1: When you look back at the last year and your life so far, what do you consider your greatest point of suffering? How did God prove himself faithful in the midst of your suffering?
2: What does the fact that God is entirely faithful have to do with your daily life?
3: Why is it impossible to please God without faith?
4: Why do you think it pleases God to make us strong (Psalm 89:17 NLT)? How have you personally experienced God strengthen you in the midst of your suffering?
5: Read Hebrews chapter 11. What primary truth is the Holy Spirit illuminating for you in this chapter?
6: Compare Hebrews 11:34 to Psalm 89:17. In view of the scriptures and today’s sermon, what is God teaching you about strength and weakness, faith and suffering?
7: Who does the enemy most often try to convince you God is not? Who do you wholeheartedly believe God is?
Pray
Lord, you alone are entirely faithful. There is no one else like you and no love like yours anywhere else on earth. Thank you that even when we are faithless, you remain faithful, for you cannot deny who you are (2 Timothy 2:13). Help us to look to you in the midst of our suffering. Fill us with your gift of hope and faith that will never put us to shame. Stir our hearts to seek to be with you always. Free us to live in the light of your faithfulness.
