Serve One Another

As a church family, we have opportunities to come around each other to provide help and support for one another. On this page you will find stories where special needs are shared and learn how you can respond.

Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.

Galatians 6:2

Gwen's Story

Gwen Austin joined PCBC in the late 70s, met her husband, Robert in the Singles Class and has served at PCBC in many capacities, most recently in the Junior High Dept.  The Austins have two children and one grandchild.

Gwen was diagnosed with Primary Biliary Cirrhosis of the liver in November, 2017. During the last several years she has been in and out of the hospital to maintain healthy ammonia levels, which cause a variety of debilitating symptoms if not in proper range. She has had her own design business for 30 years but is currently unable to work.

How We Can Help

  • Gwen is in need a liver transplant, and this can come from a living donor. Requirements and application can be found at Baylor Dallas – Living Donor Program.
  • Donors must be age 55 and under and have blood type A or O.
  • To apply, complete the form online and enter the name Faye Gwen Austin, with her birthdate 10/20/1955.

Please share with anyone who meets the qualifications and might consider being a living donor for Gwen. Let's pray in unity that a donor is found quickly!
