History

Origins

Park Cities Baptist Church was born in 1939 from humble beginnings, with a handful of visionary believers and a mandate from the great downtown preacher, Dr. George W. Truett, who said “there ought to be a church” in Park Cities. Running on faith and commitment to building God’s Kingdom in their neighborhood and beyond, the members and leadership of PCBC watched in awe over the decades as God brought them from those first meetings at the University Park Town Hall to the sprawling ten acre campus along Northwest Highway. Throughout the years, Park Cities has grown vastly in scope, vision, and membership, with 10,000 people calling our church “home.” We give God the glory for his goodness and grace as we hold fast to our mission to rescue one another from cultural Christianity and towards the life and freedom that comes from following Jesus every day.

A Vision for the Future

Dr. Jeff Warren has served as Pastor of Park Cities since August 2010 and is surrounded by other pastors, staff, and members whose passion is to love and serve God and their neighbors. Here, every member is a minister and has the awesome privilege to be a part of the family God has created. Every person—old and young—is invited to be a part of the church’s purpose to help people follow Jesus. This is the greatest and most noble cause we will ever know. Our God includes us in bringing hope, love, and joy that will last forever. We hope you’ll join us!
