Every pilgrim on the journey with Jesus are there because he has chosen them. The doctrine of election is a Biblical teaching that is interpreted differently by various groups within the Church. Regardless, all would agree that God has chosen – either through foreknowledge or through sovereign choice – those who would finish the journey of faith. Although a hard teaching, it reveals much about God’s character, and that he is a sovereign God who is in control, and that when we call such practices unjust we are revealing just how little we understand about God’s vast superiority to ourselves.
