Take time to reflect and respond to these questions on your own in the presence of the Holy Spirit, or with trusted friends or family members:
1: What do you think it means to be in the world, but not of the world?
2: What distinguishes those who walk with Jesus from those who do not yet walk with Jesus?
3: Why do you think God sent God’s only Son, Jesus, into the world?
4: Reflect on our memory verse for this week (John 17:18).
What does it mean for you to know Jesus has sent (and is still sending) you into the world in the same way his Father God sent him into the world?
5: As we all seek to bless 4 people over these 40 days of Lent, where in the world is Jesus sending you? Who is God specifically placing on your heart to bless during this Lenten season?
6: Why might prayer be considered both the starting place and the foundation of blessing?
7: How is the Holy Spirit prompting you to begin these 40 Days of Blessing with prayer today?
Pray
Lord, you gave up divine privileges when you came to us, so we might know you and be with you where you are. It personally cost you to enter into relationship with us. We weren’t even seeking after you, but still you came to seek and save us. Lord, awaken us each morning to your unmatched love for us. Fill us to no end with that same love for others. Let us begin anything and everything with prayer. Let us begin anything and everything with you.
