Questions for Reflection

Take time to reflect and respond to these questions on your own in the presence of the Holy Spirit, or with trusted friends or family members:

1: How would you describe the “home” we are talking about in our new “Come Home for Christmas” sermon series? How does it compare to your general understanding of “home” prior to today?

2: As you consider your past, your present, and your future, which season are you able to look upon with the greatest hope? Why do you think that is?

3: Where, specifically, are you in need of fresh hope this Christmas?

4: When you consider who our Hope is (a Child, a Son, a King, a Counselor, a Father, God), which characteristic of Hope brings you the most hope today and why?

5: How can you begin to apply this week’s memory verse from Lamentations in your own life?

6: What is God prompting you to do in response to the message we received today?

7: Who is someone you know who needs to hear the good news of Hope in Jesus we heard today? How can you share Hope with that person this week?

Pray

Lord, thank you for being our ever-present Hope in our past, our present, and our future. Even when life feels hopeless, we choose to hope in you, for you alone are our Hope. Help us to come home to Hope this Christmas.
