Response to SBC Investigation

Park Cities Baptist Church leadership is following the disturbing and unsettling news that is emerging regarding decades of sexual abuse, as well as the marginalization of women taking place within some Southern Baptist Convention churches and entities. We grieve for each victim who has courageously shared their experience and offer our deepest concern, prayers, and compassion. We also pray for SBC leaders as they address these heinous acts against both women and children, and work toward accountability, healing, and prevention.

Our church is a body of believers that is committed to safety and security for all members and guests. We actively engage women in staff and lay leadership roles and we empower women to use their gifts of teaching, preaching, leading, and serving within our congregation.

We are also grateful for our long partnership with Texas Baptists who are providing God-honoring leadership in this challenging cultural moment. With humility, integrity, and an inclusive kingdom vision, they are catalysts for needed change in denominational life and polity, especially with regard to hiring diversity and women in leadership.

Updates will be provided as we continue to follow the information being released about the SBC investigation.

Even in our dismay over these events, our hope rests in our Savior who is the Light of the world and who dispels all darkness. May His Light shine through us in these critical days as we live and love like Jesus.

Most importantly, if you are dealing with a life circumstance that involves abuse, our church has resources to help you find healing and peace in a fully confidential setting. The Center for Integrative Counseling and Psychology staffs a team of counselors who are ready to support you.
