We believe that God loves all people so much that He sent His Son, Jesus, to pay a debt He did not owe, so that we, who owe a debt we cannot pay, could be rescued from our sin. This is the Gospel, and it is bigger than we can imagine. His love reaches further than we can fathom, is broader than we know, and is wider than we can ever conceive. His love has reached across a divide that is wider than anything we've ever known or can fathom. Nothing can compare to God's great love. The Gospel not only rescues us, it motivates us to worship Him, to obey Him, and follow Jesus every day. It also drives us to share God's love with our families, our friends, and our community, and the world.
John 3:16, 2 Corinthians 5:21, Romans 1:16-17, 2 Timothy 2:8-9, Romans 5:18-21
If the boundless Gospel is what rescues us and drives to share God's love, then grace–this inexhaustible, never-ending, unstoppable grace–is how we love others. It's expressed in many ways throughout the Bible, but Jesus explains it best in John 13:34, as He says, "love one another, even as I (Jesus) have loved you, that you also love one another." We love those in our families, our friends and neighbors just as Jesus loves us, without condition or limitation.
John 13:34, Ephesians 2:8-9, Ephesians 4:32, Romans 8:38–39
As we live out this boundless Gospel in our lives, living day to day in His abundant grace, we realize that everything we have–our time, resources, energy, and possessions–is all from God, to be used to glorify Him and to share the Gospel with the world. Simply put, we are blessed to be a blessing. We believe that this overflowing generosity has the power to transform, not only our community, but the whole wide world. We practice generosity, not to earn God's love, but because we already have it. We are generous in response to God's unending, inexhaustible love for us.
2 Corinthians 9:6-11, Genesis 12:2, 1 Timothy 6:17, Luke 12:48, Matthew 25:21
Life is short. Life is fleeting. We don't know what tomorrow holds. At Park Cities, we have a deep sense of urgency to follow Jesus every day, knowing that "night is coming". We believe that we are living in a critical time in the history of our church and the church in America. This urgency drives us to share the Gospel of God's rescuing grace with our families, friends, our city, and the world. This relentless urgency drives our decisions and guides us every day.
John 9:4, Psalm 90:12, Ephesians 5:15–16, James 4:14, Philippians 1:21
From the wheel carved out of stone to the cars we drive, campfire stories to television shows, technology and culture are always changing. And yet, God's rescuing grace remains the same. We desire to be courageous people, always daring to do whatever it takes to share God's love and His rescuing grace in creative and innovative ways with each new generation. The Message of the Gospel never changes, but the methods of communication and application change constantly. We remain faithful to the Gospel and courageous to share, always aware of our unique and changing cultural surroundings.
