The Hill - Wednesday Nights 7pm-8pm
Location: Commons in Hughes-Trigg Student Center @ SMU
Our SMU campus ministry is a partnership with the Baptist Student Ministry and is called the Hill. SMU became known as "The Hilltop" when it relocated to Dallas Hall alongside a bank and a barbershop constructed on a hill. When we learned this, we thought of Jesus when he said to his disciples, "You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden." (Matt. 5:14). The mission of our ministry is to cultivate a community of college students who are discovering what it means to follow in the way of Jesus by integrating their faith into every area of life.
The Hill community meets weekly at 7pm in the Commons of the Hughes-Trigg Student Center for a time of learning, prayer and planning toward missional involvement on campus and in our city. Smaller groups of students meet regularly to cultivate spiritual practices and habits that will keep our hearts connected to the mission of Jesus in the world.

Young Single Adults
The Bridge - Sunday Mornings, 10:50am
Location:Collins Building Choral Hall
A few years ago our 20s singles community decided to call themselves The Bridge. A bridge is a varied symbol that communicates both the sense of transition that one feels as a post college 20something as well as the hospitality that we hope marks our community.
We are organized to reflect our values of Truth, Community & Mission.
The Bridge Learning Community:: (processing biblical truth)
This is our weekly Sunday gathering where our goal is to process biblical truth together in light of our stage in life. It is the hub of our community with around 100 regulars. There are three learning formats we practice: lectures, informed roundtable discussions, and workshops. This is a great first experience with our community if you are visiting our church or curious about what is going on!
The Bridge Missional Communities:: (establishing missional presence)
We have three missional communities that are launching in March for the purpose of establishing an ongoing missional presence in our city. They are based on where you live in the city. Groups gather once a month to pray for and discuss the needs of their part of the city and plan ways to create relationships of love and service with organizations or communities who are seeking the welfare of that part of the city. More info to come about gathering times and places!
The Bridge Intentional Communities:: (cultivating spiritual relationships)
As organic friendships emerge, we find that many of them seek to make their relationships more intentional and Christ centered. They begin to do this in two ways: have conversation over a regularly shared meal and participate in prayer together. We hope these emerging communities will grow and blossom into spiritual havens of refreshment that will help us as we pursue personal transformation in the way of Jesus and sustain our missional presence in the city. This is not a program to sign up for but an organic value of our community to be pursued. If you need guidance pursuing this kind of community, contact our young adult minister, Michael Rudzena via e-mail.
NearlyWed Seminar
We also offer three times a year a nearly wed seminar that helps young couples who are seriously dating or engaged to prepare for the biggest commitment of their life. For more information click here.
