Stewardship Update
Dear Church Family,
God is doing some amazing things through His church. As you know, we just finished up VBS with over 1700 kids and workers. Many children trusted Christ and countless families were blessed by the work of this church. In the next week there are mission trips to South Texas by our students and to the Bay Area of California by young adults which will kick off a summer of missions experiences. All of this happens as a result of your giving and the budget process which we just completed.
A few weeks ago, those in attendance at the Church in Conference unanimously approved our church budget for the next budget year, which runs July 2011 to June 2012. The budget for this coming year is 12.7 million dollars. That is an increase of 4.5% over last year.
With that budget comes excitement in how God will use His church to reach the lost. The budget represents so many opportunities all designed directly or indirectly to reach the lost in our community as well as all over the world. The budget represents the amount of money the church needs to receive each year in giving to fund these ministry efforts at PCBC. God has blessed us tremendously this year as we are finishing up ahead of our current budget thus far.
Any surplus dollars we are blessed to have from this current budget year will go to pay down debt, build up our emergency reserves, and pay towards expenses related to the new Worship Service slated for the fall. In a sense, there really is not such a thing as being over budget because of the ongoing needs of the church that reach far beyond what our budget covers. So, we need to finish the budget year strong much like we did last year. The last week of June 2010 you faithfully responded and we were blessed with one of the largest weeks of giving on record.
As we enter a new budget year, it will be exciting to see what God will do in His church. Thank you for your faithful and gracious giving that funds the many ministries God uses to reach the lost.
