Upcoming Events
Moms and dads alike, we've all been in the what's-for-supper situation: The kids are whining and hungry. You're out of Spaghetti-O's, and you have no idea what to cook. You are staring blankly into the pantry or the fridge. The pressure is on. And . . . this is the third night this week you've been in this pickle!! Sound familiar? You need a solution.
One solution: Single Parent Cooking Class!!! Let's get together with other single-parent families and Chef Kathy, our PCBC Executive Chef, to learn a new recipe, and get some easy, healthy meal ideas!
Tentative menu:
Tossed Salad, Baked Chicken w/ Fresh Green Beans, Scalloped Potato, Rolls, Mock Chocolate Mousse w/ fresh berries
The Plan: The event will be at the PCBC kitchen in the Fellowship Hall (below the Sanctuary). It will last 2 hours: We will listen to PCBC Executive Chef Kathy Witts instruct briefly on kitchen safety and sanitation, then work at stations as she teaches and we prepare food. We will work at food stations so that each family has some time with each portion of the meal. Kids will help cook and set the tables in the Fellowship Hall. We will eat family style. During the meal, we will discuss value of dinner in family life, menu-making (and shortcuts!), and budgeting, so that your limited time and your dollars go further. We will share valuable family time and learn some tips and tricks to make home life better!
When: Saturday, October 17, 4:30-6:30, and Saturday, November 7, 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM
Cost: $7.50 per person, due at the event. Kids get an apron to take home. Parents will get info and recipes.
Location: Fellowship Hall at PCBC (below the Sanctuary)
Childcare: For any who feel their kids are too little to cook, please email Marcie Freeman.
Parking: Please park on Villanova Street, behind the church, and enter through the doors under the awning to the left of the Sanctuary.
Please come with or without children, and please feel free to invite other single parents, or your significant other, or come alone! Just come! Contact Marcie Freeman for information or to RSVP. marcie.freeman@gmail.com
