Search Committee Update (11/16/09)

The Search Committee has continued in the research outlined in the last update. We have heard a tremendous number of sermons by 80+ pastors and are still researching some new names that the church body has put forward even in the last few weeks.

As we have mentioned before, the internet allows us to travel, virtually, to many churches to experience their worship, beliefs, ministries, and their sermons. We could never call a pastor without visiting physically, but we can certainly rule out many who are not a fit for this church, by going to their churches online. This process is very efficient with regard to time and money.

Our committee is working well together and enjoying each other as well as the important work we are doing.

We are still working each week, doing research and then getting together to discuss. The average committee member spends about 6 hours per week in these activities.

Please continue to pray for wisdom. Also, please be patient with regard to the amount of information that we can share about our work. We must be very sensitive to the impact that too much information can have on our work, on another church or other Pastors.
