2010 PrimeTime Retreat
October 26 - 28, 2010, Lakeview Retreat Center
It’s Roundup Time for the 2010 Annual Primetime Retreat…Y’ALL COME!
WHO: PCBC PrimeTimers and their friends. You are welcome to bring a guest who is not a member of Park Cities Baptist. Guests are welcome!
WHAT: Three days of inspiration, fellowship, and renewal! Our theme this year is “Deep in the Heart of Texas”. Bring your jeans, boots, string tie, denim skirt and cowboy hat if you like. We just might have a hoedown!
WHEN: Tuesday, October 26 through Thursday, October 28, 2010. This is a great time of the year to retreat when the weather is cooler, fall is in full force, and there is little chance of a “frog strangler” or a “gullywasher”.
WHERE: We’ll travel down I-35 to Waxahachie, turn right and head into Lakeview Retreat Center—just before you get to Maypearl and just a little less than one hour from the church.
WHY: Why not? You will enjoy getting to know members better,
make new friendships, be inspired through music and Bible teaching, have fellowship around the game tables, enjoy special events and be challenged to grow in your relationship with Christ.
Special Features
- Wonderful worship and Bible study
- Great fellowship and new friendships
- Snacks, games, movies, snacks, games, movies

The Southwest String Band
The Southwest String Band will strum lots of Texas swing tunes, a few spirituals, and give a great concert on Wednesday evening. Band members are Bill Heard (PCBC member), Jim “Texas Shorty” Chancellor, Gerald Jones, and Kevin Bailey.
Campfire (Bible) Teachers
This year you’ll be blessed to hear several outstanding Bible teachers—a different teacher for each session.
Our outstanding program includes…
ELIZABETH MILLS has been a member of PCBC since 1958. She is married to Bob; they have two adult children and five grandchildren. Elizabeth has taught and been a department director in the PrimeTime area, and has presented several interesting and delightful programs for our Friday Fest lunches. She has served on numerous committees for the church, is a deacon, and currently teaches the Single Friends class.
CHARLIE TAYLOR, a born humorist and storyteller, came to PCBC in 2002. Charlie grew up in Dallas, graduated from the University of Texas Business School and went into commercial real estate for twenty years before enrolling in and graduating from Dallas Theological Seminary with honors. He teaches the Taylor class on Sunday mornings at PCBC and a Monday noon study in the Great Hall. Charlie is married to Cyndi and they have a son, Clay.
DR. LEVI PRICE, JR., the guest Bible teacher at Floyd’s Faithful’s retreat this spring, is no stranger to Park Cities. He graduated from Baylor University in 1964, then graduated from Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary with a Master of Divinity degree in 1972 and a Doctor of Ministry degree in 1976. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1965–1968, serving in Vietnam, 1966–1967. Most recently he has been at Truett Seminary responsible for their Pastoral Leadership area. He is married to Lu and they have two married children and seven grandchildren.
