Senior Pastor Search Committee

The committee continues to meet at least once per week – often more. We have completed our time of travel. There are certainly things that could put us back on the road, and not necessarily bad things; but for now, not much traveling to do.

Our travel list has been pared down to a very short list of wonderful pastors whom we feel great about. These are strong pastors who are gifted in preaching and leading and are doing so in vibrant and growing churches.

We are aware that many of our members may have expectations for how long this would take based on the two searches done in the last two decades. Those two took about one year or just under. There is no prescribed timeline for this. The presence of podcasts on the internet is the major factor causing us to run behind the timeline of those previous searches. This allows us to look very carefully at many more pastors. We have heard numerous sermons by almost all of the 120 pastors whose names we were given. Then, we deliberated on each, considering whether we should look further at each. This was not possible or practical in years past. It is great technology that brings the world right to us. But, it has taken a great deal of time – good productive time.

Our committee members have all committed to fast and pray for wisdom and to keep seeking the face of the Lord.
Please pray for three things:

1. Wisdom for the committee
2. For the right man to be and feel released by the Lord from his current place and called to us
3. For patience for our own church members

We know it’s hard to wait and we very much appreciate your patience and prayers.
