Search Committee

As announced in all five worship services on Sunday, August 15, 2010
Dear PCBC family,
View a short video message from Jeff. |
We will make more detailed information available to you, but let me give you a brief bio:
Jeff has a wonderful wife, Stacy, to whom he has been married for 25 years. They have twin daughters at Baylor, Whitney and Emily, and a son, Travis, who is starting the 9th grade.
He grew up in Charlotte, North Carolina, and went to East Carolina University where he majored in Illustration and Graphic Design. Jeff received a Master’s in Theology of Divinity and a Doctorate of Ministry from Southwestern Theological Seminary where his doctoral work focused on Christian apologetics. He was named one of SWBT’s best preachers and was recognized for his doctoral project in his graduating class.
After seminary he came to Park Cities Baptist Church as our Youth Minister from 1988–1995. Then he became our Minister to Young Marrieds and later, Minister to Married Adults responsible for all married couples up to 60 years old. In addition, he was Coordinator of Men’s Ministry and the organizer and speaker for Fast Break, which was a ministry to present the biblical truth to the business community. He served his last year here as Associate Pastor of evangelism. Jeff served for 11 years in our church under Jim Pleitz, Allen Walworth and Jim Denison.
Then in 1999, he was called as Senior Pastor of FBC McKinney. FBC McKinney is a 6,000+ member church and has been named one of the fastest growing churches in North America by Outreach magazine.
Those are the facts. But let me tell you what the committee loves about Jeff. He is an extraordinary man - very bright and creative. He is an artist, a musician, a writer, speaker, a triathlete, and a visionary leader. He is also a humble man.
He is a great husband and a wonderful father.
He is passionate about his Lord and the grace that has been extended to all of us. And his passion is very contagious.
Many at PCBC have served under his leadership as teachers, directors, and students and others served with Jeff as fellow staff members. Jeff is loved and respected here.
His call to PCBC is clear to him. And that call is also clear to the Search Committee. We believe the Lord led us to Jeff. Our committee is unanimous in our calling of Dr. Warren. Not merely unanimous – enthusiastically and excitedly unanimous!
We believe that Jeff will lead us to run after God and to be a church that blesses the community and the world with the truth and grace of Christ.
The Search Committee recommends that our church call Dr. Jeff Warren as the Senior Pastor of Park Cities Baptist Church.
We will share more details at a Town Hall meeting in the Sanctuary at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, August 18th. Childcare will be provided for birth through grade school.
Dr. Warren will preach in view of a call on Sunday, August 22nd. Our entire church will come together for two services at 9:20 and 10:50 a.m. in the Sanctuary. Then there will be a special Church in Conference to vote on calling Dr. Jeff Warren at the end of the second service. Please let your children’s 10:50 hour Sunday School teachers know they will be staying during the conference time.
The Search Committee wishes to thank you for your many prayers, suggestions, notes and words of encouragement and for your patient support through the 14 months of our work.
We could not be more pleased with what God has done.
Respectfully,
Barry Pryor
