PCBC Calls New Sr. Pastor - Dr. Jeff Warren
Dr. Jeff Warren Returns from First Baptist McKinney
On Sunday, August 22, the congregation of Park Cities Baptist Church voted to approve the call of its new senior pastor. Dr. Jeff Warren has agreed to serve as the church’s seventh pastor since it was founded in 1939.
Most recently, Dr. Warren has served as Lead Pastor at First Baptist Church of McKinney, Texas. Under his leadership, the church has been named one of the fastest growing churches in America, known for its mission engagement both locally and internationally. In addition, he has been a popular speaker and preacher, and he has reached thousands through his Live Forgiven Ministries, which includes his book Live Forgiven, (with study guide and video teaching) and his blog. Dr. Warren has also written extensively, including articles in numerous publications, and Be Ready, a Christian apologetics guide for youth.
As he takes his new position at Park Cities, Dr. Warren will, in a sense, be returning home. He served at PCBC for more than a decade. He began as the Minister to Youth and added responsibilities, as the Minister to Young Marrieds, Minister to Married Adults, and Associate Pastor of Evangelism. While on staff at PCBC, he began FastBreak, a ministry focused on bringing biblical truth and application to the business community.
Altogether, Dr. Warren spent 12 years in youth ministry in Texas and in his home state of North Carolina. He graduated with a degree in commercial art from East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina. He earned both a Master of Divinity degree and a Doctorate of Ministry degree from Southwestern Baptist Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas. At Southwestern, he was named one of the best preachers and his doctoral project, which focused on Christian apologetics, was recognized for merit.
Dr. Warren was born in Charlotte, North Carolina. He accepted Christ at the age of nine, and was deeply influenced by his godly parents and Christian heritage, especially his grandfather, Dr. C.C. Warren, a former president of the Southern Baptist Convention. As a youth, he was active at First Baptist Church of Charlotte, and in Young Life and Campus Crusade.
Jeff has been married to Stacy Warren since 1985. They have twin daughters, Emily and Whitney, and a son, Travis. Jeff is a sports enthusiast and trains as a tri-athlete.
David Harper, past chairman of the Fellowship of Deacons, expresses the affirmation of the Park Cities congregation: “Jeff Warren understands that Park Cities has a great calling, and responsibility, from the Lord to be a strategic, kingdom building, Christ-glorifying church that literally impacts the world.”
Barry Pryor, chairman of the Senior Pastor Search Committee, adds, “Our committee was deeply moved that Jeff desires for us not to be the best church in the city, but the best church for the city.”
Founded in 1939, Park Cities Baptist Church is located at 3933 Northwest Parkway. Following the biblical admonition in Acts 1:8, the church provides ministries and missions to people in Dallas, the state of Texas, and the world.
