Young Adults East Bay California Trip

June 20-26, 2010

South Texas

South Texas Mission Trips: Since 2002, our church has been involved in ministering to the colonias of South Texas. Over the last several months, we have felt God leading us to expand this ministry to cover Cameron, Willacy, Hidalgo and Starr counties which forbes.com has called “The Most Impoverished Region in America” and to increase the involvement of our own members in this ministry. Please prayerfully consider joining our teams on one of the trips below or others that will be announced in the future, to go and to share the love of Jesus Christ in meeting the spiritual, physical and educational needs of the families of the colonias and rural communities of South Texas.

  • June 23-27, 2010: 20’s & 30’s Married Adults working with Monte Alto Baptist Church and Iglesia Bautista La Gloria to host a VBS for the community, food and clothing distribution and construction/repairs in the colonias.   • July 21-25, 2010: Family mission trip sponsored by The Anderson Department for 40’s adults and their Grade School and up children to Brownsville for our first ministry effort in this area. We will be ministering to Iglesia Bautista El Buen Pastor in conducting VBS, evangelism and construction of class rooms. Cost: TBD.   • July 25-31, 2010: Youth mission trip for grades 7-12 to do Sports Camp in Lasara and Monte Alto. Cost: $450 per person. Contact: Melinda Moran at mjmoran@pcbc.org or call the Student Ministry Office at 214-860-1575 for more information. Register online at www.pcbc.org/studentevents.
  • August 4-8, 2010: Hudson/Turner Class Families with age appropriate children to Lasara and Monte Alto for a Back-To-School trip to have interaction with the children of these communities and to distribute school supplies kits. The mission’s ministry is recruiting teams for a variety of ministry opportunities in Guatemala. Land Cost
$1510 Land cost is all-inclusive: all meals, lodging (based on double occupancy), in-country transportation, insurance, interpreters, bottled water, sightseeing, etc.

Airfare Cost
Buckner can arrange all airfare travel. Air travel taxes and fees are determined at the time of ticketing (approx. $XXX). Contact Cynthia Hayes, Buckner on-site Travel Consultant, chayes@buckner.org. Trip participants are responsible for any baggage fees that may be charged at the time of check-in.

Deadlines

  • April 1/ASAP- Mission trip application due; $250 non-refundable deposit due
  • April 30 - ½ of trip balance due (land cost and airfare); non-refundable deposit increase to $600
  • June 30- Balance is due in full (land cost and airfare)

Tentative Itinerary

  • Saturday, July 31: Depart for Guatemala from DFW; arrive in Guatemala, check into hotel
  • Sunday, August 1: Drive to Antigua , worship with local believers
  • Monday, August 2-Friday, August 6: During your time in Guatemala, you will work with the children and families at the Community Transformation Center in Jocotenango and in Alotenango. You will spend these days working on projects and building relationships with the children and families through VBS activities.
  • Saturday, August 7: Depart Guatemala; Arrive DFW.


North East India

Mission trip to North East India on November 11th and returning on November 20th. We will take a team of 10 men and women to do four days of evangelism in the railway slums and outlying villages around Assam India. We will then have a two day leadership and women's conference that will help direct the current and future Spiritual Leaders of India.
