Bill Glass Ministrie

Sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ in prisons. "Weekends" are held in various locations around the country, several within driving distance of Dallas. During a typical weekend, groups of volunteer counselor/teammates are trained and assigned to a prison unit. Entertainers and retired athletes present programs and give testimonies, and then volunteer counselors share their testimonies with inmates one-on-one.

Volunteer Medical Personnel
Date: Anytime
Time: 4 hours during the week or a Saturday morning
Volunteer medical personnel (doctors, nurses, receptionists and translators are needed to work in the medical clinic for the community of West Dallas)

Stocking Shelves and Sorting Clothes
Date: Tuesdays, Wednesday and Thursday Afternoons
Time:  1:00 – 3:00
Volunteers are needed to come and restock the grocery store shelves and help sort clothes for the clothes closet.

Grocery Store (Food Pantry) Program
Dates: Wednesdays and Thursdays
Times: 10:30 - 12:30
Volunteers are needed to assist with the weekly distribution of food for the working poor in West Dallas



Buckner Children and Family Services

Buckner Children & Family Services of Dallas combines 120 years of experience servicing the community through partnerships with churches, businesses, community organizations, and individuals to meet the needs of children and families across our community.

Crisis Relief Center

Volunteers needed to help in the food pantry, clothes closet and organizing in-kind donations to be distributed to the working poor.

"Shoes for Orphan Souls" - Buckner International
Dates: Monday through Saturday

Requirements: Please sign up in advance
Volunteers are needed to help process, sort and pack new shoes and socks for orphans in 45 countries

CDM operates the county's largest food pantry, as well as community health clinics, a public interest law firm and programs in workforce development, affordable housing, children's education and transitional services for youth exiting foster care.

Homeless Outreach Ministry

Backyard Bible Clubs

Park Manor "Senior Citizen" Apartment Ministry
Dates: Every Saturday and Sunday
Times: Flexible
This is low income housing for senior citizens under the management of the Dallas Housing Authority. Cornerstone provides lunch on Saturday and worship on Sunday. Volunteers are needed to provide games (such as Bingo), arts and crafts, etc. for the residents and provide music groups to lead worship, and pray for the residents through the telephone reassurance ministry.

North Dallas Shared Ministries

Providing food, counseling, ESL, job search, financial assistance, literacy classes, tax preparation, free medical clinic, and clothing to the working poor.

The Well Community

Engaging people with mental illness in a life-giving community of peace, love & hope. The Well Community provides Community Members with needed resources and materials as well as emotional and spiritual support through weekly worship services, a community center and friendship.
