Following Jesus is a bold and challenging adventure. It's a faith that must be actively pursued and lived out daily. "Walking the Walk" exists to inspire men to follow the path of Christ through serving together, and by one on one or small group discipling relationships.

We are commanded in James 1:27 "to look after orphans and widows." Manpower is made of men who put this mandate into practice by going in 4 man teams one Saturday a month to the homes of widows and single mothers in our congregation. We help with basic home repairs, odd jobs, yard work, computer help, etc. – no specific skills or abilities are needed in order to serve. For more information, contact Steve Corder, 214 368-8286, sdcorder@att.net.
Tornadoes. Wildfires. Hurricanes. Ice Storms. Floods. These events destroy property and sometimes kill and injure. They devastate lives. Victims need help: physically, emotionally and spiritually. This is the role of disaster relief ministry.
Through prayer, financial support and volunteer ministry, our church seeks to meet these needs in the name of Jesus. Each disaster presents many different and unique opportunities to respond. Our church has developed a Laundry/Shower Unit which serves in collaboration with the Texas Baptist Men, the disaster relief ministry of the Baptist General Convention of Texas. The TBM provides training and professional expertise as well as coordination with local, state and national disaster relief ministries and government agencies.
For more information or to be included in the call-out list, please contact Stan Knight at 214-691-4458, or sknight@airmail.net.
Our church also has a Texas Baptist Men's (TBM) group trained for tree & tree debris removal from homes damaged by windstorms and ice accumulations. Some aspects of this service requires some specialized training while no previous experience or training is needed in other facets of this work. For more information on how you can help please contact Steve Corder @ 214 207-0306 or sdcorder@att.net.
