God has called His people to change the world.
Our congregation stands as a testimony to the grace and power of the living God, and He has used us to reach people around the world throughout our history. Yet, there is more to do!
God has placed this uniquely gifted group of people here at this time for a reason. He is moving and working among us. During recent years and months, He has drawn more and more people to Himself and to ministry on our campus, in our community and around the globe. It’s exciting!
PCBC’s leaders sensed this movement, and we earnestly sought God’s will about how He wanted our church to minister in the future. We soon noticed a pattern that starts with the heartbeat of God. A passionate desire to know God and to worship Him is at the core of all we do at PCBC.
With worship at the center of our lives, we saw that our ministries typically begin with acts of compassion. You are an Acts 1:8 witness when you take a meal to a neighbor, visit a colleague in the hospital, mow a widow’s lawn or care for children in our Sunday School.
These acts of compassion lead to relationships and friendships which open doors for evangelism and discipleship. That’s the body of Christ in action, and new believers are coming to know Jesus Christ and His Word through this process.
Then we asked God where He wants us to do this work. We found the answer in Acts 1:8 – in Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria, and the ends of the earth. So we created an initiative that puts a framework around our outreach efforts and defines these areas based on the state of the gospel, not just geography. This new initiative helps us set strategic and measurable goals for how we go about His work.
How does God want you to be involved? The Acts 1:8 initiative is going to require something from all of us at PCBC. Please take a few minutes to read about this initiative, and then take that first step. Find your place to serve as God’s witness here on our campus, in our community or around the world.
