Day of Silence

Saturday, October 14, 2017 | 9 am – 3 pm

But Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed. – Luke 5:16

Join others who desire to open their hearts to hearing God's voice through the spiritual discipline of silence. We will gather in Ellis Parlor and disperse around the campus in quiet nooks. Participants will be led through the 6 hour retreat to reflect on Scripture, Solitude and Serenity. Learn to connect to God in a new way as you open your heart to Him through the ancient tradition of Silent Retreat.

Dr. Debi Newman will facilitate your time together through exercises and suggestions to help you benefit from a Day of Silence. Debi has been leading Silent Retreats for years and has found them to be spiritually transforming in her own life. Your retreat fee covers all supplies and lunch. Wear comfortable clothing for the season. If you wish, you can walk down to the nearby park in between scheduled sessions. You might like to bring a blanket, towel, or chair for your own comfort if you wish to sit outside on the lawn. You can also take advantage of the many benches around the church campus or sit in the Ellis chapel or Sanctuary. Bring a pen, Bible and journal.
