Don Duren

Minister of Activities

Don plans, promotes and directs the Activities Ministry at Park Cities. A few of the programs he's responsible for are: summer day camps, Upward Sports (basketball, soccer and cheerleading), art & dance classes, sports leagues and fall trips.

Before joining the staff in 1982, he served in churches in Louisiana and Texas. He was ordained to the ministry in 1993. Don played football while attending Hot Springs High School in Arkansas and was a member of the school's state baseball championship team. Following high school, he joined the United States Air Force and worked in communications. In addition, he found time to participate on Air Force baseball and soccer teams while stationed in Germany.

Don earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Ouachita Baptist University in Arkadelphia, Arkansas. He also received a Master of Religious Education degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth as well as a Master of Science degree in recreation at Northwestern State University in Louisiana.

Don and his wife, Cecilia, have two children and five grandchildren.
