Career Transition Workshop Kickoff
Beginning Tuesday, July 6, we launched a new partnership with the Dallas affiliate of the Career Transition Workshop. The workshop meets each Tuesday evening from 6:00-9-00 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall.
The workshop is a 12-week recurring series designed to help job seekers. It is open to all unemployed, underemployed, and employed individuals in transition. The workshop targets executives, managers, and professionals, yet people from all walks of life benefit from the series.
Participants learn proven tools and techniques to advance their job search. They learn a time-tested, faith-focused, and biblically-based methodology developed by Transition Consulting, a human resources management consulting firm. Begun in Dallas in 1991, the workshop has assisted more than 20,000 job seekers through its five affiliates and three allied workshops in churches throughout the nation.
Wes Johnson, a consultant with Transition Consulting, serves as the Director of the Dallas affiliate. “The program was transformative for me as a participant in both 1992 and 1999.” Since 2001, Mr. Johnson has served in a Mentor role before being named Director last January. “Persons who experience a wilderness without meaningful work are more open to radical lifestyle change than persons in stable circumstances,” he indicated. “It is our pleasure and passion to walk with people in transition, confronting them with the grace and truth needed to find God’s preferred future.”
The Career Transition Workshop is a lay-led outreach ministry. It is staffed solely by volunteers from the church and the community who support its extraordinary mission.
